C'MON BALBOA!!

Tennis semi final tonight.. The biggest night in my short tennis career thus far... I've been sorta trying to hint to Hubert and Denise that I may not be in the type of physical condition required to last four sets over 3 hours.. you know, with me being crook and all... *cough*... *phlegm*...

With the rotation scheme our team has been using, the powers that be have decided to pair Pike off with Sarah.. My initial thoughts were bullocks! I hadn't played with Sarah all season! and when I finally got the chance to play with her during practice a couple of weeks ago, we were hopeless! (read: Pike was hopeless)...

But I do think that the Ming/Jacqui combo is fairly lethal.. If they win their sets say 6-2 or 7-1, that may be enough for us to get us in to the final... All will be revealed in a few hours...

So I wake up this morning.. and I'm thinking... I have to write something about the Sharkies... Currently in 6th place on the NRL ladder, on 24 points.. playing the Chooks this Saturday arvo.. They are coming 5th on 25 points..

minimising all windows.. better check the NRL table on my wallpaper...

Yep.. It's a crunch game alright..

In most cases, coming off 7 straight wins (should be 8 straight wins, no thanks to that no good T.Archer!).. and playing a pathetic team like the Roosters.. this would feel like a gimme-game... So why am I feeling trepadacious? A little scared, as it were... One - We may be missing loverboy Jason Stevens.. Two - Gus Gould is involved (Football manager of the Roosters this year)..

There is a rumour going around that Gus had a word to Peter Louis (NRL Director of Referees), and got big Jase cited on two counts of knee lifting in last weeks win against the Bunnies, when the video review panel did not even hint at a possible citing.. As it turns out, Jase was an eleventh hour inclusion to the NRL judiciary list..

I smell a rat.. a big fat rat called Gus!

Strange things are always afoot when we play a Gus-led side.. Back in '99, Sean "Rhino" Ryan gets sent off early in the 2nd half for raising his elbows when carrying the ball.. Sharks go on to draw the game through a last minute Richardson try in the corner.. but Ryan is cleared of all charges at the judiciary later in the week.. In 96, an infamous incident at Shark Park.. Gus is the coach of the Roosters.. The Roosters are travelling alright (considering the Sharks were near invincible at home back in those days).. Gus decides to come to the sideline and has an altercation with referee Bill Harrigan.. Bill promptly sends the coach off, but the effect on the game is enormous.. Roosters go on to win the game..

But enough history... Losing Stevo in a crunch game like this would be a huge blow.. He is our go forward.. He is our intimidator.. Rooster's have picked Fletch on the bench.. Ordinary player, but why does this scare me so much? He ripped us to shreds last year, that's why.. We will have to watch him and Wing on the edge of the ruck.. God, they're an annoying little side!!

I'd like to go the game.. but who's gonna go with me? It's not like I have any footy friends or anything... I've only been to 2 games this year for crying out loud! I'm such a footy nigel.. Ok, better get ready for work...

24 hours ago, I didn't even know what a blog was.. and now.. here I am creating one... Sure, I've seen a couple here and there.. and quietly thought to myself.. "yeh, that'd be cool.."

Quite a daunting thought, really.. What the heck am I going to write about? Why on earth would good-minded people even want to listen to what I've got to say? Will Stone Cold Steve Austin ever return to WWE (formerly WWF)??

One thing is for sure and certain.. you won't find anything here but ramblings, folks... 100% ramblings... nothing more, nothing less.. This is your first and last warning...
